With Krystal retired and on a small pension ($100/day), it gave Ian more responsibility as the sole breadwinner.

Research

Ian spent hours at the library researching when he wasn’t on the job.  He found it much quieter than at home.

Writing

When he was at home, Ian spent many hours at the computer, writing articles, and even a book or two.

Ian and SonOf course, being the main income of the house and working all those long hours did take its toll on Ian.  Being neurotic, Ian sometimes freaked out under all the stress.  When he could though, he would take time out to see to his children.  Ian doesn’t have as much time to look after them as he’d like, but he is a devoted father, and wants the best for his six kids.
