Shai Challenges Cycl0n3 Sw0rd

It was the weekend.  Elle, of course was grounded, so she was stuck at home.  She groused about inside the house much of the morning.

Shai Ning, on the other hand, decided to make the most of his weekend by trying to move up in the chess ranks.  Cycl0n3 Sw0rd, long time friend of Ian’s, happened to be next on the list.  Soon he and Shai were locked into a battle of the board.

Author’s Note:  Because of the rather dark screenshots, I had to adjust both brightness and contrast to make some of these pictures more viewable.  Though some appear very bright and some may seem like they are day shots, these pictures were taken in sequence and were all shot at night.

Elle

Elle was still at the Alto house and it was only minutes before curfew.  Patrice had already gone to bed.  She had been talking to Billy.  He was beginning to intrigue her.  She was wishing to get to know him better.  She had already found out he wasn’t seeing anyone.  She knew he was rich, and a bit of a snob.  She wanted to find out more of his traits.  The clock was starting to strike.  She was breaking curfew as of this second.

First one on

Another school day dawns, and the school bus horn blares.  Fah Ling is the first on the bus.  Perhaps he likes the fact that for a few minutes, he is alone.  School for him is difficult for his loner trait, as he has to deal with large amounts of people the whole day through.

In the next day or so, a new routine started to take shape without Krystal.

Bree Begins to Cook

Bree, the most family-oriented one in the family, decided that she would start preparing meals for the family.  Neurotic, like her father, Bree Li’ant chose to avoid the stove for her first endeavor, and decided to try her hand at an Autumn Salad for an early supper.

When Ian woke up from his impromptu nap on the floor, he went back downstairs.  There was a note on the kitchen counter from Bridget.  “Dear Ian,” it read.  “I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to finish everything today.  I hope you can understand.  I was just too upset.  I am very sorry for your family’s loss.  I’ll do better tomorrow.  Bridget.”

Ian sighed.  Bridget was a nice young girl with a good heart.  He knew how distraught she had been that morning, and could understand why she had left early that day.  He’d still pay her day’s wages; it wasn’t her fault this had happened.

He napped for another hour or two, until the bus was due to arrive.  When they all came in, Ian sat his children down, and told them what had happened.  They all reacted quite differently.

Heartbreak and Bookworms

As Bridget and Ian were grieving, the Grim Reaper decided that now would be a good time to see if there was anything good to read in the house.  Apparently, when Krystal shook his hand, he took it as a carte blanche invitation to the Starr home.

Heartbroken, Ian saw the Reaper entering his home, and that was the last straw.  He moved beyond his grief to anger at his loss, and the Reaper was about to be the target of his rage.

Days passed, and routine once again settled in.

One particularly beautiful morning after breakfast, the kids had gone off to school, Ian was working on another story, and the housekeeper had just arrived to tidy things up.  Krystal started her day much like any day, by working in her garden.  She weeded, she harvested fruit, she watered the plants, and she enjoyed her time in the sun.
