At least this time the guest have someone greeting them at the door.

Bree Li’ant came home from work one day to find a group of three people waiting on the Starr doorstep.  She greeted them all and then asked, “So, what are you all doing out here?”

Lifefruit and Homework

A while ago, after helping Ian in the garden, Fah Ling had noticed out of the corner of his eye his Dad Ian eating a strange fruit from their garden.

“Hey, Dad,” Fah Ling said, “I know we’ve been growing those, but I don’t think I’ve ever tried one.  What kind of fruit is that?”

Midnight might be the witching hour, but 1:30 AM seems to be the time for ghosts.

For several days, Krystal did not visit the Starr home.  Then, early one morning, she decided to make an appearance.

Hey all!

Last weekend wasn’t the best to do any writing.  A co-worker at one of our branches passed away, my area has a few people out, so we’re doing the same amount of work with less people, and I had a company event this past weekend (at least that one was fun, as I was doing face painting).  As it is, I haven’t even caught up with reading some stuff yet.

I took one day and updated some of my links.  There is now a section for stories that are completed.

I will do my best to get something up as soon as I can.  My apologies…sometimes life just gets in the way. 😦

Usually, people want to start small when they start building their handiness skill.  A busted sink here, a clogged toilet there; nothing big or complicated.

Then, there’s Bree Li’ant Starr.  For her first time repair work, she got the wish to fix the family computer.

Climbing the Ladder September 9, 2009

After breakfast, ambitious Shai Ning wished to advance himself another rung higher on his climb to being a Chess Legend.  He made a phone call, and soon his next opponent arrived.

Next Victi...er...Opponent ;)

He shook hands as he gave her his name.  The woman introduced herself as Pauline Wan.  She’s older, Shai thought to himself, a lot older than any previous opponent.  In some ways it worried him.  He reminded himself however that age does not necessarily equal expertise when it comes to chess.  She was next in the rankings; how hard could it be?

I’ve decided to do a combination of snapshots and a couple mini chapters to get everything to the next good jumping off spot for a chapter.  I promise to post the mini chapters daily; I don’t want to have you waiting two days when the posts are that short.  If I feel they are just too short, I may end up posting multiples/day.

These pictures are in chronological order, but some of the mini chapters happened within this same time frame.

This is Fah Ling's first attempt at cooking. Unlike his sisters, he went right for oven cooked stuff.

Krystal Plays on the Computer

While Ian was still bathing, Krystal’s ghost sat at the computer.  She seemed to be playing some type of game, and its sounds echoed in the quiet home.

Ian could hear the computer going, even from where he was.  When he finally got out of the bathtub, he checked the time.  It was almost dawn, he thought.  Which one of the kids could still be up?  He thought it best to go check.

Chess Game

Wii had gotten back from the park, and things were winding down at the Starr household just after midnight.  Shai was telling Elle how he was going to clean her clock one more time.  Rai, watching them play, considered that it might be time to toss out a few plants that were now barren.

If you’ve ever read Mitsy Kelder’s Tale, then you’ll appreciate this picture of a former co-worker that I saw him post up.  I had to LOL!
